My name is Ben, and I am an experienced Industrial Designer serving as the Head of R&D at Dermalux, where I lead a skilled team in the development of new clinical and home-use medical devices.
With a diverse background developing products in medical, consumer, industrial, and furniture sectors, I utilise a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and attention to detail to drive innovative product design. My approach is comprehensive, using market insights to craft product strategies while ensuring commercial viability. My primary focus lies in enhancing user interaction and experience throughout the development process, resulting in meticulously designed, high-quality products.
Alongside my role at Dermalux, I am also a co-founder of Mitovitality, a science-led venture focused on mitochondrial function, metabolic health, and longevity. Mitovitality is driven by systems-level thinking and design-led problem solving, with a focus on creating solutions that integrate seamlessly into everyday life. The aim is to translate complex biological principles into intuitive, practical experiences that support long-term health in a way that feels natural, sustainable, and human-centred.
Having worked extensively in the field of LED phototherapy, I’ve developed a deep passion for the biology underpinning light–tissue interaction, mitochondrial signalling, longevity, and optimising metabolic health.
